A leading specialist group has issued a warning advising against pharmacists dispensing chloramphenicol for patients with minor ocular symptoms.

The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO) has posted on the Medical Journal of Australia website that it “urges caution in regard to the dispensation of chloramphenicol by pharmacists”.
