Let GPs decide what patients pay

The plan for the rebate freeze is now widely known and recognised thanks to that and thanks to the government’s backdown on the barbaric $5 rebate cut.

Yes, we cannot survive on the rebate only at this rate, but here’s the thing: through the rejection of the co-payment and rebate cut, we have been given the support we needed from government and the community to declare that we cannot survive on air and to charge a price that we GPs feel values our service.

And we could have a choice with regard to who pays more and who pays less or nothing.
