Older women who consult a naturopath are less likely to be vaccinated against flu, Sydney researchers have found.

And women who sometimes use herbal medicines or practise yoga are less likely to receive both the flu and pneumococcal vaccine.

But those who frequently use vitamins are more likely to receive both vaccines, according to the University of Technology research.

The study, which has been accepted for publication in Preventative Medicine, was the first outside of the US to explore the link between complementary medicine (CM) use and uptake of adult vaccinations.
