Lobby group says it will unionise GPs
A former RACGP presidential candidate has lodged an application to start a union to represent GP interests

The new GP lobby group founded by a former RACGP presidential candidate has applied for legal recognition as a union, saying it wants official status to negotiate on behalf of GPs.
Although most GPs are self-employed, the Australian Society of General Practice claims a union is needed to represent the specialty, both in its dealings with the RACGP and Federal Government.
