Low FODMAP food certification kicks off

A new food certification initiative has been launched to make it easier for people with irritable bowel syndrome to find low FODMAP foods on shop shelves.

Initially the low FODPMAP stamp will be used on sourdough spelt breads at selected bakeries, but Monash University says many more products will be certified as the program rolls out.

Only foods which meet strict nutrient criteria for FODMAPs, fat, saturated fat, sugar, salt and fibre are eligible for the stamp, and all testing for certification will be
