LSD could help with depression and anxiety

Psychedelics like LSD may once again have a place in psychiatry.

Research from Adelaide University shows that the altered state of consciousness and temporary lack of ego that results from using psychedelic drugs could help treat anxiety, depression and addiction problems.

Writing in the provocative digital magazine Aeon, study authors Professor Philip Gerrans and recent PhD graduate Dr Chris Letheby say there is growing evidence to suggest that psychedelic experiences can be truly "transformative".
