Lyme inquiry calls for more GP empathy

GPs need a better understanding how to treat patients presenting with complex symptoms such as those linked to Lyme-like illness, a Senate committee says in its final report.
The report also reveals that a controversial group of ‘alternate’ medicine-leaning GPs is drawing up a guideline for treating chronic tick-borne illnesses that will be offered to the NHMRC for appraisal.
