MA slams Grattan report
Medicines Australia says the Grattan Institute’s critical report on PBS pricing policies has once again missed the point.
The Grattan Institute argues that Australians are paying far too much for drugs on the PBS and that a policy aimed at making the PBS better value is actually costing the government $320 million a year.
But Medicines Australia boss Tim James says there are effective policies in place to ensure a sustainable PBS. Furthermore, he says, policy reform will achieve substantial savings for the government.
