Major fall in stroke deaths down to GPs

Better preventive care from GPs is a major factor behind dramatic reductions in stroke rates and stroke deaths in Australia, a report says.

Rates of stroke fell by 25% between 1997 and 2009 and stroke death rates fell by 70%, a report from the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare has shown.
