Male GPs take the brunt of patient aggression

Workplace aggression is alive and well in Australian medical practices, researchers confirm.

Using MABEL data, their work suggests both male and female doctors bear the brunt of the problem, but often in different ways.
Among GPs and GP registrars, more men than women are on the receiving end of aggressive outbursts from patients, relatives and carers, the study shows.
