Many first-aid burn treatments used inappropriately

Products obtained from pharmacies are contributing to high levels of inadequate and inappropriate paediatric first-aid burns treatment.

In a letter to the MJA, burns specialists at the Children’s Hospital, Westmead, said around a third of children they surveyed from 2008 to 2012 received inadequate, inappropriate or no first aid, regardless of the size of the burn.
