Med students question Libs' internship figures

The Federal Government has yet to deliver on its promise of 100 internships for Australian-trained international graduates, according to the Australian Medical Students’ Association.

In response to Friday’s announcement by Health Minister Peter Dutton that 76 internship places have been created as part of the new Commonwealth Medical Internship Scheme (CMIS), AMSA president Jessica Dean questioned “why only 76?”    

“We’re really appreciative of this but what happened to the remaining 24 positions for this year?
