Medical school to bridge health inequality

Charles Sturt University executive consultant Professor John Dwyer told a parliamentary inquiry into the supply of rural health professionals that 60% of the country’s wealth was produced by the 33% of people living in rural areas whose health outcomes “cannot match those of their city cousins”.

“The current policies for attracting more health professionals to have a career in the country are not working... so we need change,” he said.
