Medicare Locals face hefty fees

Medicare Locals are shocked to find they will have to pay the Federal Government around $100,000 a year for basic information such as whether practices in local communities have after-hours arrangements in place.

The information is crucial if the $416 million Medicare Locals network is to fulfil its mandate of identifying where local communities are missing out on services, and addressing those gaps.
