Meeting with Ley ‘very good’, says AMA
Federal Health Minister Sussan Ley has told the AMA she is open to a range of options to change Medicare.
She met the association on Thursday, a week after dropping a plan to cut the level B rebate.
A freeze on rebate indexation remains on the table. As does a $5 rebate cut for all GP services, with exemptions for vulnerable groups.
The AMA opposes cuts to the rebate as well as the indexation freeze.
