Mental health service shortfall exposed

Improved mental health services and early intervention could save Australian taxpayers billions a year, a new report reveals.

Pharmacy leaders believe the profession can lay a greater role in improving services in the mental health field. 

The Ernst and Young (EY) report, commissioned by ReachOut Australia, shows that insufficient mental health services for young people aged 12-25 is costing the government $6.29 billion in health, welfare, business and prison costs
