Ministers back greater drug powers for nurses

Nurses and midwives have moved a step closer to expanding their scope of practice to diagnose conditions and supply drugs, with health ministers across the country now backing their approach.

The ministers' support for widening prescribing powers also has the potential to pave the way for other healthcare professionals, such as chiropractors and pharmacists, to prescribe restricted drugs.
