MLs fail to represent GPs: AMA

The AMA has previously called for the ML rollout to be frozen, and this week repeated its complaint that the primary health care bodies amount to a dilution of GP control since GPs cannot have majority representation on ML boards.

But today Australian Medicare Local Alliance (AML Alliance) chair Dr Arn Sprogis responded, saying in a statement that the AMA’s “grasp of the importance of GPs in general practice in Medicare Locals is off beam”.
