More pharmacists push for the Pill to go OTC
New Zealand regulators are considering the downscheduling of oral contraceptives.
This follows a submission by a New Zealand pharmacy banner group (Green Cross Health) and a pharmaceutical company that there is an unmet demand, with pharmacies reporting increased interest for the morning-after pill.
The proposal suggests that pharmacists should be trained to ask the correct questions during a face-to-face consultation before selling oral contraceptives over the counter. They will also need to check for any health conditions
