Mother 'lied' about homebirth death
A woman whose baby daughter died in an unassisted home birth lied about the circumstances to protect herself and her family, a Sydney inquest has been told.
Janet Fraser, a leading home birth advocate, gave evidence about the death of her daughter Roisin in an unassisted "free birth" in Sydney in March 2009.
Ms Fraser, her partner Trevor Stokes and a family friend, Marianna Duce, were the only people present at the child's delivery in a purpose-built pool in the couple's home study.
