Multidrug resistance: reason for optimism amid the gloom

There is reason for optimism in the fight against antibiotic resistance despite the rise of multidrug-resistant (MDR) gram-negative bacilli (GNB), commonly found in E. coli and Klebsiella bacteria.

Writing in the MJA, researchers from the University of Queensland and Monash Health in Victoria report antimicrobial programs are now standard practice in Australian hospitals.
