New CSIRO diet competes with 5:2

Alternate-day fasting remains a popular diet method, but much of the evidence to date has failed to show that it offers any advantage over typical reduced-calorie diets.

That hasn’t stopped the CSIRO from launching a new diet this week that promotes intermittent fasting three days a week.

Called the Flexi diet, it appears to be a more intensive version of the 5:2 Diet popularised by British doctor and journalist Michael Mosley a few years ago.
