New NSW president takes helm in major reshuffle
Sydney pharmacist Rick Samimi has taken over as president of the Guild’s NSW branch.
He replaces the highly regarded Paul Sinclair (pictured), who has retired. Other leaders who are a retiring are Mark Douglass and Denis Leahy, a national councillor.
New national councillors Mario Barone and David Heffernan will serve alongside Mr Samimi. Phil Dibben has been appointed senior NSW vice-president and vice-president in charge of finance. Feras Karem and John Black have been appointed vice-presidents.
National President George Tambassis thanked the retiring officials.
He said: “Paul, Mark and Denis are dedicated community pharmacists who have sacrificed their time and resources over many years to make a real contribution to the Guild NSW Branch, and to the Guild’s national advocacy efforts.”
Mr Sinclair – who served in a range of Guild capacities for more than a
