New prostate cancer treatment shows huge promise

Australian and New Zealand prostate cancer researchers have discovered new combination treatments that contain the spread of tumours and lower the death rate by up to 40%.

A combination of 18 months of testosterone suppression therapy and zoledronic acid plus radiotherapy emerges as the most effective treatment for men with aggressive cancers ranging on the Gleason scores of 8-10, finds the 1071 Trans-Tasman Radiation Oncology Group RADAR trial.
