Nexium to become Pharmacist-Only

Pharmacists will be able to provide Nexium (esomeprazole) without a prescription to patients suffering the symptoms of gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, if the TGA confirms its interim decision 1 June.

The TGA announced that Nexium will be rescheduled as an S3 medicine in oral preparations containing 20mg or less per dosage unit, in packs containing not more than 14-days supply.
