Novel system makes psychiatry referrals easier

A hassle-free teleconference service for regional and rural mental health has been set up, inspired by the administrative and technical problems encountered by one Sydney psychiatrist.

Dokotela is a commercial web-based telehealth platform that brings together regional GPs, their patients and a psychiatrist. The service, which allows  patients to have a consult with a psychiatrist either from the GP’s clinic, or the patient’s home, was launched earlier this year by Anita Mustac (pictured), the daughter of Sydney psychiatrist Dr Zelko Mustac
