NSW pharmacies given permission to dispense full scripts without paperwork
The NSW Chief Health Officer is allowing pharmacists in bushfire regions to dispense the maximum quantity of S4 PBS medications without a prescription if there is an immediate need and they have been previously prescribed.
The temporary authority will be in place until the end of March.
Pharmacists must record:
- The patient’s name, address and the name of the dispensing pharmacist.
- Name, strength and quantity of the medicine, plus the date of supply.
- The name of the address of the last doctor who prescribed the medicine.
