Nursing home immunisation in need of a boost

Immunisation rates for influenza and pneumococcal in Australian nursing homes are suboptimal, Victorian researchers say.

One-quarter of aged-care facilities have influenza vaccination rates below 75%, and more than three-quarters have pneumococcal vaccination rates below 75%, according to a survey of 265 residential aged-care facilities across all Australian states in 2012/13.
