Older GPs can lose focus after 4pm, warns guide

GPs with older kids are being urged to work mornings as their concentration often "goes” after 4pm.

The advice – aimed at helping doctors avoid burnout – has been issued by managers at the UK’s National Health Service.

"Doctors who work in a flexible practice where consideration is given to their individual needs appear to fare better than those that have a rigid attitude to patient lists and equitable workload,” says the advice, published in the UK general practice magazine
