Older GPs fear end of 'cottage practices'

GPs say the days of “cottage practices” may be numbered as ownership rates in the specialty plummet to an all-time low. 

Mounting costs, endless paperwork and the demands of accreditation have been blamed for new data that shows just one in four GPs are principals or partners of their practice. 

GPs were responding to previously unpublished data revealed by Australian Doctor last week.
