Older people need more quality sleep
Sleep Health Foundation president Professor David Hillman said healthy older people sleep just as well as healthy younger people.
However, research showed half of older adults had sleep problems which contributed to symptoms of depression and anxiety, slower reaction times, memory, balance and vision problems, and increasing risk of falls and death.
“Older people believe sleep problems are inevitable but this simply isn’t true. Healthy older people sleep just as well as healthy younger people," he said.
