One in three patients with cold or flu expect an antibiotic

A new Australian survey shows 38% of those who saw doctor the last time they or their child had a cold or the flu expected a prescription for antibiotics.

The NPS MedicineWise survey of 1000 Australians released on Thursday shows the main reasons respondents gave as to why they wanted antibiotics was:
- They just hate being sick (21%)
- They believe that antibiotics help you get over a cold or flu
