Over-65s 'sucked in' by flu vaccine scare campaign
Older patients are turning down the free enhanced flu vaccine to pay for less effective quadrivalent shots after being “sucked in” by a media scare campaign, an expert says.
Immunisation Coalition chair Professor Paul Van Buynder has called on GPs to encourage patients aged 65 and older to get one of the new trivalent influenza vaccines being funded through the National Immunisation Program (NIP).
