Pain sufferers may benefit from a tipple

Treating chronic widespread pain (CWP) with a scotch or a glass of wine may sound like a bad idea, but a large population-based study suggests regular drinkers have lower levels of disability than those who never or rarely drink.

The study of more than 13,500 people with CWP shows those who drink 21 to 35 units of alcohol per week are 67% less likely than non-drinkers to experience disability.
