Parents blind to obesity in kids

Parents of obese children appear to have a hard time recognising they have a potentially serious health problem, research shows.

The US study finds that parents are commonly in a state of denial about their child’s weight despite a diagnosis of obesity.
The research suggests their apparent blindness to their children’s plight hampers their efforts in helping their son or daughter reach a healthy weight.
