Passive smoking linked to miscarriage and stillbirth

Passive smoking is linked to a significantly increased risk of miscarriage, stillbirth and ectopic pregnancy, a large BMJ study finds.

And the risk appears to be cumulative, increasing in line with the length of time smoked.

Similarly, women who had ever smoked during their reproductive years were also more likely to have all three adverse pregnancy outcomes, the research shows.
