Patients evacuated from flood-hit city

Doctors are helping to evacuate and discharge hundreds of hospital patients in Bundaberg ahead of the Burnett River rising to a predicted high of 9.5 metres late Tuesday.

In total 130 patients are being evacuated from Bundaberg Hospital to Brisbane, with 10 critically ill patients and newborns the first to be transported out in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
A further 60 dialysis patients and pregnant women nearing term from the region will be flown
