Patients keep mum on supplements

People typically take dietary supplements to improve their “energy levels” or “boost their immune system”, and often don’t tell their doctor, a study suggests.

The telephone survey found 38% of Americans had used supplements such as fish oil, echinacea or probiotics in the past two years, and 14% used them regularly.
