Patients misled, but did Nurofen's makers get away with it?

One of the largest companies in the world was in court last month, to find out how much it would have to pay in fines for deceptive advertising of one of the world’s best-known OTC drugs, the NSAID ibuprofen.

For outsiders following the case, one question would have been running through their minds: with all the complex, finely calibrated, expensive legal arguments raised and unpicked, amid the deluge of paperwork generated, the lengthy submissions on the facts or otherwise of the legal nature of the activities of Reckitt Benckiser, the owners of the
