Patients will consent to pharmacist vaccination service: Nissen

Patients who receive a flu vaccination from a pharmacy involved in the Queensland Pharmacist Immunisation Pilot will have to sign consent forms acknowledging their approval to participate in the trial program.

Responding to concerns that patients could be vaccinated by a pharmacist without realising that they were being part of a trial, Professor Lisa Nissen, the pilot lead, told Pharmacy News that consumers would be left in no doubt that they were agreeing to participate in a research program, before being vaccinated.
