Pharmacies attacked for selling DNA testing kit

Pharmacies are flogging a controversial DNA testing kit that claims to identify an individual's genetic structure so doctors can prescribe “the most suitable medication at the right dosage”.

The myDNA kit is being sold to patients for $149 by the Chemmart chain, which describes the technology as “new and revolutionary” personalised medicine.

“[It] identifies how your individual genetic structure will respond to medication so your doctor can prescribe the most suitable medication at the right dosage for your body,” the Chemmart website states.
