Pharmacist EpiPen advice superior to GP's

Australian pharmacists are mostly demonstrating correct epinephrine autoinjector technique to patients, but many are still forgetting to provide some important safety warnings, researchers say.

A study of simulated patient visits in 300 randomly selected pharmacies assessed the advice pharmacists gave to patient using either EpiPen or Anapen, with generally positive results that one of the authors said were superior to those demonstrated by GPs.      

Of 250 demonstrations conducted by pharmacists, the majority (163 or 65.2%) involved the pharmacist accurately demonstrating the three
