Pharmacist suspended after covert pseudoephedrine operation

A Queensland pharmacist whose store was identified as the number one seller of pseudoephedrine products in Australia by a Project STOP report, has had his registration suspended for a month.

Jason Arash Tavakol, owner of Terry White Chemists Wynnum Manly Plaza, admitted that as owner, he should have known his pharmacy was being targeted by drug runners.

Queensland Health officers covertly purchased 11 packets of pseudoephedrine from the pharmacy in June and July 2010.
