Pharmacist suspended over dispensing issues

A pharmacist has had his registration suspended for two years after a tribunal found he had engaged in unsatisfactory professional conduct and professional misconduct.

Bankstown, NSW, pharmacist Tareq Ahmed was prosecuted by the Health Care Complaints Commission for:

  • Making false entries in the Pharmacy dispensing system
  • Making false entries in the Schedule 8 dangerous drugs register (DD register)
  • Not accounting for missing Schedule 4D and Schedule 8 drugs
  • Not keeping the Schedule 8 safe key on his person
