Pharmacists ill-prepared for managing anaphylaxis: study

Pharmacists are not fully prepared for anaphylaxis emergencies, with the majority unable to correctly demonstrate how to use an epinephrine auto-injector, a new Australian study has found.

The research, published in the BMJ, showed that less than 20% of pharmacists could correctly demonstrate how to use an epinephrine auto-injector, and rarely discussed anaphylaxis action plans with patients.
