Pharmacists don’t need postgraduate training to prescribe under supervision, says a Pharmacy Board position statement.

Following a lengthy consultation period, the board has determined that pharmacists won’t need additional postgraduate training to prescribe under supervision or structured prescribing arrangements. Any gaps in competency could be filled through CPD, short courses or local site credentialing, it says. Changes to state and territory legislation would be needed, however.
