Pharmacy convinces minister to waive location rule

A pharmacy in a coastal WA town has won a 19-month battle with the government over location rules.

The reprieve came after the pharmacy, backed by over 2000 community members, convinced Health Minister Sussan Ley to overlook the fact that the closest supermarket is slightly too small.

The saga began in April last year when Dawesville Chemmart Pharmacy opened for business and applied for a PBS approval number.
