Pharmacy ill-equipped for expanded role: AMA

An AMA leader has lashed out about pharmacists’ inability to provide professional services after the government indicated it wants a major expansion of the profession’s primary care role.

The doctors group is irate with the announcement of addition funding for community pharmacy in the $18.9 billion 6CPA, coming at a time where it says other parts of the health system are facing severe cutbacks.
