Pharma's code of conduct watered down

Under proposed changes to the pharmaceutical industry’s code of conduct, “patient support programs” may be little more than thinly veiled product promotion campaigns.

The claim comes from the Department of Health and Ageing, which said Medicines Australia’s proposed new code to govern the relationship between Australia’s biggest pharmaceutical companies and the medical profession contained “wording that is not as strong as in previous editions”.
