Photos show how prenatal alcohol changes infants' faces

Drinking even small amounts of alcohol in pregnancy can promote the development of facial features in infants that resemble fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD), according to Victorian research.

Using facial imaging technology, researchers at the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute, Melbourne, claim to have found a consistent association between craniofacial shape and prenatal alcohol exposure.

Published in JAMA, the research appears to show that the influence on craniofacial shape is
